Firstly sorry for the big gap in updating you on Goose Pams condition.

She has been moved to another ward due to her having now contracted a C Diff
infection. This is very contagious so she is isolated in a cubicle with
proceedures to be carried out by visitors both going in and coming out. Until
this is sorted any further forward movement is stopped.

After visits from the hospital and Council Occupational Therapists regarding
changes to the house needed to be made to allow her to come home, and her
current condition and the amount of care needed, on Friday, 1st March 2019 I
had agree that it would be impossible for me to look after her safely for 24
hours a day even with visits from care assistants.

To this end and to ensure her safety I had to make the decision that it would
be better for her to go into a care home where she could receive 24 hour care,
something I would be unable to give her. There will be no decision made on
this until after the C Diff is sorted and she is then re-assessed.

I will update you all on any further progress as and when I can.

Thank you all for your support, it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the update, Ray.

It never rains but it pours, doesn't it? C Diff is a really nasty thing
to catch, though hopefully in Pam's case it can be defeated.

And well done for letting the head rule the heart. Providing 24 hour
care *is* impossible for you long-term, and no matter how much you would
like to see Pam back home, it is better to recognise beforehand that you
can't provide that level of care than to try it and discover it can't be
done.

Give Pam my love - and look after yourself too!

Firstly sorry for the big gap in updating you on Goose Pams condition.
I fully understand this very difficult decision. Not only is it best
for you it's, more importantly, best for Pam. You're all in my heart and
mind, always.
